Tomy - 21 Marzec 2005, 11:44 Temat postu: Understanding polish How can it be that everybody in here understand polish??
Even people from other countries do
How do you do? Learn me!
domaz - 21 Marzec 2005, 14:51 Temat postu: Understanding polish 99% from here are Polish:) There is John Beak that is from Czech Republic and their language is quite similar to our one so he can undestand most of our words. There is also Davo and we like him so much that we translate post that he asked us to translate:P
Karciooz - 21 Marzec 2005, 18:48 Temat postu: Understanding polish Hi Tomy ! Write us with words you understand and we will translate it for you

Thank you paluszek.
Yes, translating is very good, I would learn Polish but I am doing others things, like camps, ect.
Tomy - 22 Marzec 2005, 15:59 Temat postu: Understanding polish I am so thankfull *hugs everybody*
But could you also learn me just a little bit polish?
domaz - 22 Marzec 2005, 18:42 Temat postu: Understanding polish But you must know that polish is very hard language to learn. Like Chineese or something like that:) We even have letters that are used only here:)
Tomy - 23 Marzec 2005, 15:42 Temat postu: Understanding polish The same in Denmark we have c?
domaz - 23 Marzec 2005, 17:38 Temat postu: Understanding polish We have s c z z a e o and combination of letters that are pronounced as one sound such as rz sz cz dz . So good luck in learning polish:D because thats very hard task. Maybe for the beginning
HI! = Czesc!(without polish letter its Czesc)
Tomy - 23 Marzec 2005, 19:50 Temat postu: Understanding polish Lol I'm starting a word document, please write many words so I can learn something ^^
Vinyanov - 23 Marzec 2005, 20:08 Temat postu: Understanding polish No, you should start with grammar.
Here are two main polish verbs:
| Cytat: | to be - byc
to have - miec |
And persons - singular:
| Cytat: | I - ja
you - ty
he, she, it - on, ona, ono |
And plural:
| Cytat: | we - my
you - wy
they - oni, one, one |
Absolute beginners in Polish often don't decline verbs and use their infinitive forms only - that's understandable and tolerated. So if you will say, for example, "ja byc gracz" or "on miec komputer" everybody will understand that you mean "I am a player" or "he has a computer" (though it's wrong and sounds funny).
Maybe I will post proper endings in my next post...
| Cytat: | computer - komputer
player - gracz |
OK... I hope it will help.
I'm sorry if there are some English mistakes, but I'm in a big hurry now...
Edit: All right, now there shouldn't be any.
Tomy - 24 Marzec 2005, 05:45 Temat postu: Understanding polish That's anough words for now, now I want to learn some sentences
Vinyanov - 24 Marzec 2005, 10:45 Temat postu: Understanding polish Hmm... Here is some Icy Tower vocabulary:
| Cytat: | score - punkty
floor - pietro
combo - kombo
(new) highscore - (nowy) rekord |
And present forms of "miec":
| Cytat: | I have - ja mam
you have - ty masz
he, she, it has - on, ona, ono ma
we have - my mamy
you have - wy macie
they have - oni, one, one maja |
So now you can tell us about your highscores in sentences:
| Cytat: | | Ja mam nowy rekord: 1923 pietro. |

John the Beak - 26 Marzec 2005, 18:02 Temat postu: Understanding polish LOL. To jest jezyk Icy Tower-Polski. Ja mowiem po Icy Tower-Polski.
To understand it, if I was in Poland, I'd be able to buy bread, but not able to buy butter. The easiest would be buying a combo
Tomy: You have ?? in Denmark? I thought it's only Czech
Tomy - 29 Marzec 2005, 07:33 Temat postu: Understanding polish Yep John we have ?? / ?

You'd rather sell.
Have you ever had any offers?
John Beak - 4 Wrzesień 2005, 18:20 Temat postu: Teach me :) Well, school starts and I want to add another language. I want to learn regular Polish.
It's up to you. Teach me. Others can join if they want.
OK, I know few basics.
I - ja
Ja wiem. - I know.
Ja wiem czy nie wiem? - I know or I don't know?
Is it possible to use it without "ja"?
Wiem czy nie wiem? - I know or I don't know?
Nie wiem, ale bydu. - I don't know, but I will.
And the f**king Icy Tower-Polish:
Mam jeden nowy rekordy w Icy Toweru. - Ich habe ein neue highscore in Icy Tower.
Any suggestions?
For example, I have to go buy some food. Let's take... Bread, salt and water. What should I say? (how many zloty's they usually cost?)
