Hey, has anyone heard about the terrible tsunami disaster that happened on the 26/12/04 in Asia?

Has anyone given any money yet? I have already given $50 (My Christmas money).

There is supposed to be at least 250,000 dead!!!

Also it is going to take around a decade to clean up!

in Poland TV TVN made charitable action - we can sending smses per 1,22zl (~0,40 USD) now we collect ~3 mln zl = ~ 1mln USD i sent ~ 20 smses

That is a terrbile disaster. There is a positive option - this disaster wasn't made by any terroristic actions. Yet, it is very sad

I've just heard the news - there is 160,000 dead people. I don't even want to count how many people are lost, and how many can be caught by limitless epidemics

In Australia the three major commercial TV channels had a telathon, where they spoke to celebrities, and people phoned in to give money. It raised [size=24px]$15.87 MILLION[/size]

But Syo is right, at least it wasn't terrorist action.

In Poland we have each year an action called WIELKA ORKIESTRA SWIATECZNEJ POMOCY. The purpose is to collect as much money as it is possbile to help the babys. Also, this year, 250,000 Euro will be sent to build a hospital in Sri Lanka.

Yeah, each Christmas a shopping Centre called Kmart puts a huge Christmas Tree up. The presents that go under there go to homeless children.

Oh, the tsunami was caused by an earthquake in the ocean.
